Addicted to the Net
America runs on Dunkin is the popular campaign ad created by Dunkin Donuts insinuating that caffeine is the stimulus that everyone needs on a day to day basis. To some extent, this is true. You see people everyday buying four energy drinks a day just to get a caffeine fix and it has really been an addiction sweeping the country. In the modern era though, caffeine takes on a whole new source.
Google is a search engine that uses a complex indexing system to produce results. When someone searches information on Google, there is a delay because Google is searching through their index for the best information. This process is done with a software called aWeb Crawlers. The crawlers will find a relevant site and then copy all the links within that site and then continues to do the same with the next site. This is then processed in an index where Google will then display it to the users. This system of indexing has met its time though. Its efficiency isn’t ideal anymore because of the number and complexity of data on the web nowadays. Thus Google has created Caffeine.
No not the energizing tasty beverage widely distributed by Coffee shops around the world; Caffeine is Google’s newest web indexing system that provides fifty percent more efficiency then the old system. Caffeine allows for massive information like videos and images to be stored at the freshest level. The Caffeine indexing system works by analyzing the web in small portions and updates the index continuously and instantly. Caffeine is technology of the future because it is robust and comprehensive with the growth of information. Caffeine is meant to make browsing the web goes faster and more smoothly.
Caffeine not only makes the web better for everyday browsers, but it also opens a new door of possibilities. Internet marketing will now be played on a new field than before. SEO strategies will vary now that information is being distributed faster. Development will have to consider the Caffeine system as opposed to the previous system of crawlers when making content for their site. In addition, marketers will be able to seed more content across the web because they will be able to find new relevant material instantly. Thus Caffeine as we know it has a whole new meaning and the web has sprung a new type of addiction.
